We met Tom through Zillow when we were looking for a house in DC this July. We were still living in St. Louis and not convinced we would buy before moving, but Tom gave us multiple FaceTime tours of properties and helped customize a search for listings in the neighborhoods we were looking at (we are in Park View, just north of Howard University and love it!). Although the circumstances were challenging, Tom?s patience, flexibility, and willingness to go above and beyond led to us making an offer and ultimately buying our new home sight UNSEEN. This was truly terrifying, making the largest purchase of our lives without stepping foot into the house, and I don?t recommend it if avoidable, but Tom?s honest assessments of the pros/cons for each property he showed us was extremely helpful and made us feel confident enough to make a strong offer, which was accepted! In addition to handling the offer process, he connected us to a lender who he works with regularly, and they were able to put together a 21 day closing that increased the competitiveness of our offer. This was my first time buying a home and my husband?s second time. A few characteristics of Tom?s work style that we appreciated include: - He isn?t pushy. We never felt pressured into any of the myriad decisions we had to make. - Constant communicator. He was always available to answer urgent (and sometimes panicked) questions via text, call, or FaceTime. - He was very knowledgeable about every DC neighborhood we considered. - He?s nice, kind, and patient, qualities that made the process much more pleasant. If you don?t have a buyer?s agent and want to avoid a pushy realtor who?s more interested in getting a sale than helping you find your next home, then Tom?s your guy.
