In December 2009, on impulse while on vacation, we stopped in Tom Wheland's real estate office to get some info on homes for sale in the local market. We had dreamed of a beach home someday but had taken no serious action. Tom , was not pushy at all but rather handed us a list of homes and said he'd be happy to show any of them if and when we decided to look. On that trip, and several subsequent ones, Tom cheerfully drove us to many, many properties, pointing out a lot of interesting local history and culture. He appreciated our financial situation and stayed within our budget. He has years of experience, knew the back-roads well and more importantly, knew the local real estate market very well. Gatehouse employees greeted him by name, and with respect. He was responsive and attentive to us via long distance as we lived 8 hours away. E-mails and voice messages were answered by Tom promptly, day or night. Tom is honest, high energy, and worked tirelessly for us through the whole buying process. And he's been great to keep in touch over the past 4 years. If we ever sell, he'll be our first choice. And if we ever buy again, he's our first choice. We would recommend him to anyone who's even just thinking about buying or selling. Start with Tom Wheland as your first choice....
