When my wife and I set out on our home buying adventure, we interviewed three realtors before making the decision to work with Gary. It didn't take long to realize we made the right call, and our experience with him has been wonderful in every way.Gary ticks every important box:- He is an endless wealth of knowledge both about homes in general and regarding the local market.- His reliability and responsiveness are incredible. He always replies to emails and texts faster than I expect. We always felt like we were his most important clients.- He is a genuinely friendly, patient, personable, and kind person. We are very anxiety-prone and feel a lot of stress about making big decisions, but so much of that was alleviated along the way just by feeling understood and having confidence in Gary's advice.We truly could not be happier with our experience. If and when we next find ourselves in the real estate market, we would not consider working with anyone else if Gary was available.

If I could rate Gary Silbersteins performance as our real estate agent with 0 stars, I would. Gary was hired to list my 79 year-old mothers Condo in Mahwah. Most of the interactions with Gary went through my husband and me. Almost from day one, this was a very frustrating and unnecessarily difficult experience. We NEVER felt that Gary was on our side. He seemed to always advocate the Buyers position. If we summarized every frustration with this agent, it would be too long to read. Gary accepted our listing, but thought the price was too high. We followed our own instincts on pricing and we went to contract soon after listing. We cancelled that contract after we learned that the Buyer had not put down the required deposit on a timely basis. We were surprised that Gary did not inform us about this. After that, Gary really pushed us to lower the price. We did lower the price a little and we told Gary we would continue to lower the price gradually if there were no offers. In a text message, Gary said aEURoeIf you went to the doctor and he said he had to amputate your leg, would you ask him to take off your foot? Then your knee? Hes suggesting taking off the whole leg. Thats what I'm doing here and we just keep dropping the price to a number that still is too high for the market. We are slowly pulling the Band-Aid off instead of ripping it off as it should be done.aEUR? We stayed with our strategy and received multiple offers shortly after going back on the market. We went to contract, and closed, with a sale price less than 2% below our original list price. Gary almost never personally attended showings, open houses, inspections, or walk-throughs. Our experience was so frustrating, I would not want to work with Gary again.
