As a first time homebuyer, and the first person in my immediate family to buy a house, I didn't know anything about the process when I started looking. John was great about explaining the process and getting me in touch with the people I needed to to get ready to buy a house. He showed me about 6-7 houses until I found the one I wanted, then we went to make an offer and there was a mix up at the mortgage company that led to us not getting the house. After that we looked at another 4-5 houses and when we got ready to make another offer I was laid off from my job for 9 weeks. John called me once a week all 9 weeks to stay in touch and when I got back to work we went right back out looking at another 7-8 houses. He gave me great advice about locations of houses and the availability of rental income in different areas, and has a great knowledge of Kalamazoo. All this led to finally having an offer accepted after over 8 months from when we first started looking. John was always available at any time, always great at staying in touch, and had very helpful insight on the houses, especially with ones that needed repairs. The house I bought was $55,000 but with How much work John put into getting me in my house over such a long period of time and with so many bumps in the road, you would have thought I was a client buying million dollar homes. I've already given his business card to 2 coworkers and would refer anybody I know to him.
