The Jim Allen group attempted to sell our home in Raleigh, NC. Although Jim Allen was our agent, more often than not he was too important to speak to us directly. The rep that did deal with us directly we were told was working only part time, at one point wasn't even working for them... had an irrigation business? We were promised a quick sale without having to lower our price. We had to lower it twice and were within just a few thousand dollars of having a sale and the Jim Allen group let our counter offer expire, and let our agent agreement expire without being able to negotiate a deal. Then the office staff threatened us saying that we could not sell our home using another agent and that we had to exclude any previous buyers, but failed to even send us the list of agents per the agreement. A bad experience for us, but we were referred by friends who had a good experience so I guess it depends on how many zeros are on the end of the dollar amount of your sale/purchase.

Tim McBrayer and Jim Allen helped us for the second time in purchasing a home and with selling a house at the same time. Choosing to work with them again was a no-brainer for us because they were so helpful, communicative, and knowledgeable the first time around. We decided to move forward with building a house this time, which was a first for us, and having their experienced guidance and assistance all along the way was really helpful (and calming for our nerves!). Everything from the first email we sent them, looking at listings, listing our old home for sale, working with their closing department, to even the ongoing communication after closing has been excellent. Jim listened to what we were looking for in a new house and immediately suggested we look at a particular lot to consider building - we hadnt even initially considered building or the neighborhood he suggested, but both turned out to be exactly what we wanted! Tim was incredibly helpful with all aspects of selling our home, for which I'm very grateful. It is clear to us why they are part of an elite group of Realtors. I cant see any reason we wouldnt use them for any possible future real estate needs, and we have happily given their names to others who have their own real estate needs!
