Elaine was the best realtor ever, were not first time home buyers, weve bought a home before, the realtor we had before didnt do anything to help us, we did it all on our own. I can honestly say we didnt experience that this time with Elaine, she was there with us every step of the way, from the beginning all the way to the end, and boy did she have her work cut out for her, it wasnt an easy task for her. My husband and I didnt live here in Kentucky, we lived in Washington state, we came to Kentucky to look for our forever home and we had some must haves on our list. The first big task for Elaine was trying to find a house that had these things, along with the front porch I so desperately wanted, but she only had a couple of weeks to find us some homes to look at. The first house we found on our own, this is before we met Elaine, this house happened to be a house she is the realtor for the seller, I called the number listed and I was connected to Elaine, we made an appointment to meet her to look view the house. After viewing the home, we knew this house was not the one, she asked us if we had a realtor and I said no. She said I can be Realtor heres my card, Jason and I talked about that night and we said lets call her, we like her. Best decision ever. We talked about what we wanted and where we wanted to be in the amount of money and she started sending us houses, now we got some road blocks along the way, again weve seen and experienced how people can be in our 28 total years of being together, dating and married time, we looked at one house, we liked it, put an offer on the house, and the owner came home while we were outside still and then that night we got a call from Elaine that night the house is no longer on the market, theres a family emergency. No, I know why, this happened its about race, weve experienced it over and over again as a interacial couple, it happened again, Elaine didnt say anything, because she knew we knew the real reason, but she didnt give up on us, she kept looking. We were running out of time, we needed to get back home to Washington, and at the last minute we found 954 Smith Ave Paducah KY. When we saw this house online we knew this is it! This our forever home, I called Elaine and said we want to put an offer on this house, I think Elaine thought were making a mistake doing this because we hadnt seen the house in person but we knew this was it. We also knew this wouldnt be on the market long, its gorgeous, and it had everything we wanted, the only thing missing was the basement, we were ok with that because it had everything else, it checked all the boxes. Elaine, the good realtor that she is, did the contract up, but made sure she put a clause in there, our offer will stand based on us seeing the home, Im so thankful she did this, what Jason and I didnt think about, pictures online always make the houses look good, but sometimes when you see them in person its not the same. Rooms are smaller, theres damage they didnt show, or the garage is not a true two car garage. This house is in Paducah and this is 2 hours or more from where Elaine lives, this was asking a lot of her to travel this distance to be with us to view the home. She made the trip to he there with us, with a contract in hand, once we viewed the home, and for whatever reason there was another couple viewing the home, even though we had already put an offer on the home. Once we walked through the house, I absolutely knew this was our home. Elaine knew also, and talked to us, we need to come in with an offer higher than what we initially offered in the beginning, it was a smart move, we gave them an offer that would be hard to refuse. It was the best decision ever, they accepted right away, the house appraised for a little more than what we offered. I also want to say, buying a house is so stressful, there were plenty of days I cried, so much paperwork and questions, but I always said a prayer every night and asked God to help us get through this. Elaine would always call and check on us. We asked her a lot of questions, even though weve been home owners before, this was different this time, our other house was brand new, the builder did the walk through with us, the laws are different in Washington State also. We were like a fish out of water, we had no clue, Elaine was so patient and explained everything to us and walked us through the whole process. I want to tell you the big thing for us, she knew I was praying every day, because I told her my believe. When things started getting crazy at the end with our original Lender she told me Ive been praying for yall, The lender started giving us the run around and Elaine talked to us about finding a new Lending company, she took it upon herself to find us a new person, I called her and within 2 weeks we were closing on this home. Elaine is a blessing, she is an Angel sent to us, because of her we have our forever dream home.
