I'm a first-time home/condo buyer, and Joe Himali appears to be the model of what anyone would want in a realtor. He truly listens to what his clients are looking for, and then provides expert advice on whether a particular home would fit ones short- and long-term needs. He pointed out things that I would not have considered when assessing a condo property (e.g., the chances that urban development might later obstruct my view). In addition, because Joe and his assistant Rosemary are so thoroughly plugged-in to the Washington real estate market, they can expertly guide a home-buyer through the administrative, financial, and legal issues that must be navigated in moving from searching for prospective properties to closing on a home purchase (e.g., Joe managed to have the home inspection completed less than 48 hours after the seller had accepted my offer!). We met Joe at an open house as we began our home search. Joe was very friendly and advised us to get a preapproval, giving us a plethora of lending contacts. Once we were preapproved I decided to reach out to him to see if he could help us find a home. From the onset, he took a considerate amount of time to explain to us the process to purchase a home (this is before we even hired him as an agent!). After we hired Joe, he made himself available for any questions or concerns we had. Joe encouraged us to see as many properties as we wanted and never made us feel like we were indecisive or annoying. Amongst the things that we really appreciate about Joe are his integrity and honesty. Joe let us know on several occasions if he thought that a property was not in line with we really wanted. In fact, Joe had the opportunity to sell us a more expensive property and make a higher commission. That's where the integrity comes in....he knew that house really was not for us. As a result, Joe spent alot more time showing us homes. When it came time to make an offer, Joe fought tooth and nail to negotiate a fair price that we were very satisfied with.We closed 2 days ago on our first home. I have heard horror stories of the process, but honestly it was quite seamless for us. All we had to do was show up! Joe and his team ensured that the lending, settlement process was as stress free as possible. Even after the close, he has been supportive in making sure that our move is going ok. We sincerely thank Joe for coaching us through one of the most important purchases we will ever make.

Joe is an amazing broker. Patient, very upfront, not pushy and really had my best interests in mind. He steered me away from larger more expensive houses, which in retrospect would have been a disaster for me.I would not have purchased my home without him.
