Kristin was a realtor I randomly picked from zillow and I'm so glad I did. From the first contact to way beyond closing, I knew Kristin had my best interests and would go above and beyond to make sure my needs/wants were met. Prior to house shopping: Kristin responded almost immediately to my "zillow email" to her and volunteered to take me to look at houses for a large part of the weekend (I emailed her on a Friday). We met at her office and she talked me through the whole process would work, even giving me a binder with tips and a notebook to take notes on houses (I worked with Remax before Windermere, and while I did get the information, I didn't get any of the binders or notebooks I got from Kristin). House shopping: I had probably 40-50 houses I wanted to look at in Longview and Kelso and Kristin helped me sort through this big list. Whenever new houses that fit my criteria came on the market, she immediately sent them to me, sometimes even before they had been sent out to the public house searching sites and we would text or talk on the phone about these houses (as I lived about an hour away). Additionally, whenever I had a question about ANYTHING, she almost immediately responded, no matter the time of day or night. She even called my broker on several occasions to help clarify things for me.Making an offer: We made several offers before I finally got one accepted. Each time, Kristin made sure that the offer was written in a way to protect my interests, but also to make a competitive bid. The ones we lost were mostly a result of my maximum mortgage loan amount, and not Kristin. When she thought we might need to make a competitive bid, we did, and when she thought a house was overpriced, she told me so.Closing: Once my last offer was accepted, a nightmare began for both Kristin and myself in working with the sellers. They were very difficult to work with for everyone involved and it was a constant struggle all the way up until I moved in to work with these people. Kristin had asked the sellers to make repairs and while they agreed, they ended up refusing to pay the handyman, saying it was a "conflict of interest" as Kristin uncle (completely by chance) happened to be the one the seller's agent picked to do the plumbing work. Post closing: Right after closing, the sellers had asked for three days to move their stuff out (which we consented to, without asking for rent back). During that time, the basement flooded and the sellers just left it there, with stinking, moldy, wet carpet, and partially wet drywall. Kristin was being her awesome self, and attempted to check on the damage during that three days and was verbally accosted by the seller and the seller's daughter. Regardless, she hired (and paid for) service master to shop vac the finished basement and put in a dehumidifier and fans. TOTALLY above and beyond an agent's duty. Additionally, we had asked the sellers to professionally clean the house before moving out. However, upon moving in Friday morning (a day later than I was supposed to be able to move in, as the sellers waited until the last second to move their things), the house was FILTHY. Window traps black and caked with moist dog hair, flooring brown and sticky along all the sides, kitchen cabinets slick with food goop, and one broken cabinet, windows splotchy and gray (not cleaned since the turn of the century?), baseboards brown and yellow with skin gunk, and the you could literally pull dog hair in huge clumps off the bottom of the fridge. The whole house smelled like a dog had played slip n slide in cat pee and horse poo and then dried himself off using the floor and walls. It was AWFUL. They even left a bunch of old, useless potted plants on the front of the house, moldy overhang on the deck, and "Jesus posters" in the basement (because they were really good people, obviously).Regardless, Kristin went to the house at 5 am (!!) and brought a coworker (also an awesome lady, thank you!!), and began cleaning the house before I got there at about 7-8am. She left her personal cleaning supplies with me to borrow for several days and even gave me a couple cleaners, which she totally did not have to do. It's over a week later now and the servicemaster stuff is still in my ruined basement, and Kristin is still in contact with me about remedying the violation of contract (for not cleaning the house like they were supposed to). She already got paid and yet she is still doing her best to make sure I'm comfortable and satisfied. To me, that shows not only an AWESOME agent, but a really good person, with a true sense of character.Thank you!
