My husband and I were first time home buyers and I'm convinced we couldn't have made it through this process without Barbara! We've read a lot and done a lot of research the past two yeaars, on the home process, so we anticipated a stressful process.... but than we met Barbara! Barbara Markham came highly recommended to us after our home had been on the market (w/ a different agent) for over a year with no offers and very little interest. We were extremely frustrated and were ready to give up and just foreclose on the property. It was our first time selling a house so we had no idea what a poor agent we had before we met Barbara. She knocked our socks off! Within one day of my first phone call to her, she provided us with an incredibly detailed market report, other documentation, and the proposed closing costs based on the list price. It soon became clear to her that we would be perfect candidates for a short sale, something our previous realtor never even mentioned. Simply put, Barbaras knowledge and expertise of options for pre-foreclosure properties is truly mind-boggling. She was able to help us navigate through the cumbersome paperwork and went to bat for us with both of our lenders time and time again. She spent innumerable hours in contact with our lenders to solidify the short sale. Without Barbaras encouragement and perseverance, we surely wouldve resigned ourselves to foreclosure.Did I mention that we received multiple offers within weeks of listing the house with her? Her marketing abilities are unmatched. She is incredibly effective, and always the consummate professional. She gets results! Steve and his team are awesome!! This was our first time selling a home and Steve did a great job of giving us all the info and making us feel comfortable about all the decisions we made. We choose Steve because he had sold other homes in our neighborhood and I loved the online presentations and videos of other houses Steve had sold. What I didn't realize was how good they were at communication. I only had one small concern with choosing Steve and that was that they had so many listings. The pros are obviously hey this guy is busy because he's great at selling homes and people want to work with him. The con was will he have time for us? The answer is yes! I actually mentioned to my wife the other day that whenever you call Steve he answers. Doesn't matter the time of day or whatever. The guy always answers the phone. It's not staff either, when you call Steve you get Steve. Steve and his team are the real deal. They work hard for you and they really know the ins and outs of real estate. My wife and I would highly recommend Steve for any of your real estate needs, especially if you live or are moving to the O'fallon, IL area. You will not regret it.
