My wife and I were incredibly lucky to work with Stephen and we encourage you to give him your fullest consideration. My wife appreciated Stephen's creativity, personable manner, and flexibility while I was impressed by his data-drive approach. If you work with him, you will have a clear picture of the market conditions and the components of a successful offer. As a first-time home buyer, this was particularly useful. At the beginning of the process, Stephen took the time to go over data from the past five years and he illustrated the changes in the market. He gave examples of listings which showed the listing price, the sale price, and the price per square foot. As you may know, the Los Alamos market is challenging: homes move quickly, offers are accepted in twelve hours, and there is a shortage of housing. Because Stephen is so knowledgeable about the surrounding areas, you know that his comparisons are reliable and they provide you, the home buyer, with clear expectations. He will be able to help you whether you decide to buy in town or in the surrounding areas as we did.We purchased our home remotely and we were not able to see the property in person until after closing. If we had worked with any other real estate professional, this would have been terrifying! Yet, Stephen took the time to shoot detailed video of different properties. Armed with these videos, my wife and I were able to discern different features of each home; we felt as if we had really been in each home. We referenced these videos several times during the process.This will be particularly useful to anyone looking to buy a home during the COVID-19 pandemic. When we were ready to place an offer on a property, Stephen took the time to go through the purchase agreement line by line so that we were aware of the timeline, and conditions under which we would be able to back out. Stephen took the time to make sure that all of our questions were answered--even though this took more than two hours and it was well after 5:00 p.m. Stephen's greatest professional assets are that he is honest, thoughtful, and accessible. For example, he suggested a reliable home inspector and provided reasonable quotes for required work. Thanks to these quotes, we were able to formulate a successful set of objections to the home inspection. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and would recommend working with Stephen to anyone considering moving to Los Alamos or the surrounding area. If you do so, you will be well informed throughout your home purchase. Stephen is dedicated to each of his clients--you feel as if you are the only person he is working with--and you know that you have an ally and an advocate throughout the process.
