Audrey Mason was our real estate agent. We first met her in December of 2020 through Zillow. We flew to Alaska to look at a list of houses that we had found online for one weekend. We spent the weekend looking at houses. In full, we looked at 12 houses. We had started to lose faith that we would find the ONE for us in that first visit, but then Audrey took us to a house that only a local, well-informed real estate agent could know about. We instantly fell in love and she had found the place that met all of our requirements. It was a new construction house, which is why we didn't even notice it online. We had never even considered a newly constructed home. Working with the builder was VERY difficult due to non-responsiveness. On top of that, we had issues with our lender as well. Due to these two problems, we sometimes had issues with responsiveness in general (because all of these need to talk to each other in order to get a response!). Audrey was good at getting back to us and we we were able to get in touch with Brent and Nancy Mason when we had troubles with shower doors and other items. Negotiation wasn't something that a lot of effort was put into since it was new construction and is based mostly on the neighborhood and the sales comparables/history/timeline.What I appreciated most about Audrey during the process was her absolute and total knowledge of the area - she always knew not only what company to call, but usually the person to speak to at these companies in order to get things done.What I appreciate STILL and always will about Audrey is that she is a truly caring person and has helped us multiple times since the purchase in ways that only a neighborly person who cares about their home area would.
