Robin is by far the best realtor my wife and I have worked with in 22 years of active duty military service and 8 cross-country relocations. Due to COVID we were unable to travel to Chesapeake Beach, MD to view the homes. I am a disabled veteran who became homeless as an unexpected result of a major midlife crisis and chronic suicidal depression that I went through starting a little over two years ago. I had come home from Los Angeles, where I had lived and worked very successfully for most of my adult life, to Calvert County, where I had grown up. I knew that I would be cared for here and it was my last hope at surviving. I was fortunate to qualify for housing assistance from the VA, but finding a rental here that would accept me in the state I was proved to be almost impossible and I had a limited time to do it in order to get the benefit. Robin, without any hope of getting any fee from anybody, volunteered to help me. I have two dogs, and getting rid of them was not ever going to happen. That took my options for rentals from somewhat near zero to really really close to zero. I have no idea where Robin came from but one day in the middle of my search, when I as coming up with absolutely nothing, she just kind of dropped into my world and started, one thing at a time, getting me over the many high barriers that existed between where I was, and housing security. Over the course of several months, she managed to find places that might work. She would find things immediately after they were listed and she made sure I got there in time to have an opportunity to apply. As one after the other rejected me, I got more and more depressed. Finally, after the third or fourth house that I expected to move into rejected me, and when I was honestly at the end of my rope, she showed me the house that finally worked. At that point, I assure you, I was not at all easy to deal with. I am sure I was very unpleasant. But she told me to get to this address promptly or else and I did what she said. I lived there for two years, which allowed me to set the reset button on my life and figure out how to live happily ever after. It took me a long time, but it was worth it. I am happier now than I have ever been. I have a new, really good job in my field, which is a highly specialized field that has very little demand. I wouldnt have been able to get here without this house and there is no way that I would have ever gotten into it if it werent for Robin. And, as if that wasnt enough, the day that I moved in, she posted on social media that I needed furniture and THAT NIGHT I had everything I needed. When she called to tell me, as we were hanging up, I said that I couldnt believe how much support I was getting from people who had never met me. To which she replied, aEURoeWelcome to Calvert County.aEUR? I will never forget that moment. It really stands out to me as an example of a person who genuinely and selflessly wants to help another person. And I will never stop being grateful that this extremely strong, highly skilled person came into my life. Now I am going to go make lots of money and buy a house with it and guess who my realtor is going to be. If you get the chance to work with her, do it. Thank you, Robin. I am forever grateful to you, and I am inspired by your kindness. I promise I will pay it forward.
