It was that time in our lives- we graduated law school, passed the bar, and started our careers. We were tired of seeing our hard-earned money go out the window every month with nothing to show for it. It was time to get serious and invest in property. When I told my Uncle Chris that we were looking to buy a home, he referred us to Anna May and Greg Jones immediately. My Uncle was very familiar with their reputations and work throughout the community. His words exactly (as I paste them here) were: "They will take great care of you." After meeting with Anna and Greg, we formalized our working relationship by signing an Exclusive Buyer Representation Agreement. We reviewed information explaining the difference between "buyer customers" and "Buyer Clients" and we felt extremely comfortable in having Anna and Greg represent us. From the get-go, Anna and Greg were enthusiastically committed to our cause. They utilized various forms of media (newsletters, websites, blog posts etc.) and attended real estate marketing meetings to promote us as Exclusive Buyer Clients. We set a schedule and saw available homes on a consistent basis. Anna and Greg paid close attention to our (sometimes vacillating) requirements, shared keen insight and professional experiences, and provided us firsthand knowledge of various neighborhoods. It was through Annas tenacious advocacy in particular that we were ultimately able to find and buy our dream home. As most are aware, the market in the Bay Area is ridiculously competitive. Anna and Greg were very proactive in putting together complete offer packages even before showing property so that we would be the first in line in the event that we liked the home. Even though other (much higher) offers came in on our home, it was ours that stuck out- we were the first to bid and we had a proactive, knowledgeable and communicative team representing us.Anna and Gregs work did not end once our offer was accepted. They made sure everything went smoothly with our lender and prepared a package for the appraiser to justify value. Looking at our calendar, it is unbelievable how quickly we closed (only 35 days). This time frame included Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. A few notes about our experience: 1) We were never pressured to bid on a property;2) Anna and Greg took on the role of advisors/educators, not sales people; 3) They worked to ensure that we felt 100% comfortable with every decision we made;4) We were in constant communication about all aspects of the process; 5) They were always available to answer questions even when on vacation (on Thanksgiving, and Christmas!)We cannot recommend Anna May and Greg Jones highly enough. For us they are not just our real estate agents but new neighbors and great friends.
