We lived just outside Washington, D.C., for 26 years. My husband was swamped with government responsibilities and had no time to look for a retirement home. I found a location and agents I liked on Zillow and flew out to Colorado to look at homes with the Kilgore-Merson team. The most important thing Kerri and Michael did was listen to me, although I didnt realize the importance of this early on. Based on my responses to various homes and our conversations in general, they discerned what kind of community, and then what kind of property, we needed--this even before I was able to define such a place. Both Kerri and Michael had careers in public service so even though my husband was not present, I felt as if they understood his needs as well. They seemed to magically combine our overt requirements (one-level living, lots of space for books) with our unstated emotional needs for quiet surroundings, access to wildlife and nature, and privacy. They made it look like magic, but my husband and I know this level of service comes from hard work, research, communication, and an appreciation of community. You cant go wrong with these two agents.
