We began working with Sonja well over two years before we actually retired to the area from Pennsylvania. What initially attracted us to her was her website. It provided the broadest range of information about the area, not just the real estate. From our initial meeting with her, she made the experience an adventure. Several times a week we received e-mail notices of new listings from her. On our seasonal vacations to the Outer Banks over the next two years, we would take a day to visit New Bern and look at eight or ten homes on the market. She understood what we were looking for in a retirement property and the kind of neighborhood in which wed be most comfortable living. She was very accessible during our home search, and with each of our visits, she gave us more of a flavor of local living, the areas culture and resources. Last November, she kept us grounded and represented our interests well as we traversed the home buying process. After our purchase but before we actually moved down, she coordinated work on the home, picked up the mail, and dropped by regularly to keep and eye on the property for us.
