My husband and I are military and upon arriving to Fort Wainwright and looking at our different housing options, had decided that purchasing a home in North Pole would be the right choice for us. As we were living in a hotel at the time, you could say I was overly enthusiastic about finding a home. When I contacted Stars and Stripes Realty I was connected to Jerry. We had a short, pleasant conversation where he asked the typical questions and told me that he would be emailing me some houses to look at so that he could get a feel for what I was looking for. Assuming that this would take over a day I contacted some other realtors as well, in hopes of expediting the process. When I received Jerry's email within a half an hour I knew that this was our guy! By the next day my husband and I were looking at properties. We looked at approximately 10 homes over the course of less than a week when we found what we had been looking for. Jerry was always friendly and warm, professional, and attentive to our requests and criticisms of the homes. He was knowledgeable about the real estate market in general and about Alaska and real estate in this area as well. What I especially liked about him was the fact that when he showed a home he didn't turn into a used car salesman; there was no pressure and no cheesy lines pertaining to the different assets of the house. Also, when I would find something online that I was interested in looking at (often way too late at night) I would text him and he would respond immediately, and most of the time he was able to get us in for a showing in less than 24 hours, or the next morning. It was awesome. Throughout the closing process (a nerve-racking 45 days), he was always there to answer my (what seemed like) thousands of questions about the ins and outs of the closing process. If the question I had involved the selling party he was quick to call them and find answers for me and my husband. Our experience with Jerry made our first-time home buying process unbelievably easy and enjoyable. I would recommend Jerry to anyone in need of a realtor in the area and in fact, we plan on going through him as a property manager when we leave North Pole and rent our property out.
