Stephanie Wood was just an absolute dream to work with. She came highly recommended, and after working with her, I am happy to join the ranks of those who sing her praises!My husband and I were re-locating to Ohio from out of state, and needing to purchase a house contingent upon the sale of our previous home, and as quickly as possible at that. As this was only our second home purchase, and our first time navigating the sale of a home at the same time, we needed someone experienced, patient, and kind enough to help us through the process. Luckily for us, Stephanie agreed to be our agent!We couldn't have had a more positive experience. Stephanie quickly helped us decipher which homes in Athens met our criteria in our price range, and provided relevant local information that helped us narrow our list. Because our time was limited and we were working hard to get our own home ready to sell, Stephanie went above and beyond to give us virtual tours of all the homes we were interested in. She helped us put together an offer very quickly, and assisted us through the process of navigating home-sale contingency, an escape clause, inspections, etc.Stephanie was kind enough to take extra time to meet our safety inspector at the home since we couldn't be there, and called us on site so we could have a thorough understanding of the inspection report. She also met us at the house on multiple different occasions so we could see the home when our schedules allowed us to be in town.All told, Stephanie is extremely knowledgable, experienced, and an overall expert in the realty field. We truly appreciated how easy it was to work with her, her quick and clear communication, her thoroughness throughout the home-buying process, and her willingness to help us navigate a particularly stressful time. We were moving from out of state, and didn't know the area at all, so we contacted Stephanie because of her outstanding reviews. She was fantastic! She returned our initial call immediately, and found several properties for us to look at (including one that wasn't yet widely listed), and spent a great deal of time with us looking at each one, pointing out strengths and weaknesses as we went along. We were looking at small farms, and she walked all over the properties with us, through fields and woods, up and down hills, and even helped entertain our kids when they got bored. She was able to tell us everything about each area, including all about the schools and local services. She listened carefully to what we wanted in a home, and used that information to help us find the perfect place. In the negotiations and purchasing of the property, she stayed in close contact with us, responding immediately to emails (even in the evenings and weekends), she conveyed paperwork between us and the seller quickly, she made solid recommendations in negotiations, oversaw a few needed repairs, and knew what special clauses to recommend in each agreement (things I would not have thought to do). The other specialists she recommended (workmen, attorney, insurance agent, etc.) were all excellent, and I'm glad I took her advice on them. I've worked with several agents before, but Stephanie was truly exceptional and hard-working. I could not have been more pleased with her efforts on our behalf.
