Working with Kim Merrell Lamb was wonderful. We had originally planned on interviewing several realtors, but after meeting Kim, I canceled the rest. Kim is an excellent realtor, an advocate, and a calming presence when things get tough. I believe it is the tough times that show true colors and demonstrate just how good a realtor really is... We bought a home in Davis during a market "frenzy" as the interest rates began to climb and home inventories were incredibly low. Homes were selling for over asking price, and multiple, extremely competitive bids were submitted by eager buyers in Davis. Kim was calm and encouraging, writing a clean and appealing offer. Our offer was one of 6 offers submitted and was the offer selected! Kim quickly arranged all our inspections (and attended them!) and kept us on track for a quick escrow. Now for the part that went wrong...Our loan was underwriter approved but an error on the lender's part almost resulted in us losing the loan (and our home!). Kim was incredibly calm, picking us up and dusting us off while quickly (and miraculously) arranging for another lender to step in on the home stretch. Although the original lender returned to us with an apology and correction, the second-- super kind and awesome lender (Jen Barth-Vitek) and Kim offered hope when we hit bottom. I believe this is most important when selecting a realtor (and lender).... Will they be there when things go wrong? The process can get confusing quickly if unexpected things go wrong and having an experienced advocate is priceless. Kim's words of wisdom, advocacy, and quick actions as well as her constant communication were incredible to us. Two days after moving into our amazing, new home, I am finding I already miss communicating throughout the days with Kim! Oh and a realtor's reputation DOES matter. Kim "plays well in the sandbox" with the real estate community. This is important in so many ways. Everyone we interacted with had words of praise for her. Consider the importance of this in a multiple offer situation or quick turn around deadlines with contractors. The community of Davis likes working with Kim! Kim gave us advice when we needed it, space when we wanted it, and respect at every step of the way. My expectations were high and Kim met them with ease. Thank you Kim - it was an amazing journey!(I know this is a really long review, but this is the type of information I was looking for prior to selecting a realtor - plus valuable info I learned along the way.)
