The process of this move was longand demanding. One of the bright spots, in this process, was puttingour home in the hands of the Billups team. David and his wife, Virginia, are excellent. Most of our interactions were with David but Virginia, having an eye for esthetics, did the staging for our house at no cost to us. David knows the local real estate market and is an expert in the buying and selling process so his knowledge was quite reassuring. All of our questions were answered promptly, either immediately or upon consultation with the buyers Realtor, with the degree of detail that we needed. He was always available by direct phone call, or if he was on another call, immediately after our leaving a message.We were able to conveniently receive and send necessary information by email prior to listing the property and were able to sign the contract electronically using a program that we were easily able to access by a link in an email.David was concerned about minimizing our costs. He wanted to minimize the cost of necessary renovations, and arranged all of the contractor and other vendor work, needed to market the property online for professional photos to attract buyers. As I mentioned above, David and Virginia suggested lightly staging our home with some of our furniture that we were not planning to take to the retirement community to which we moved in order to avoid the expense of professional staging. These efforts worked well. The same day our property was listed many people expressed interest, the next day and we received an offer for more than the listing price, and the next day after that we signed the contract. Another example of Davids attention to detail is that, as we approached the settlement day, he inspected the tentative settlement sheet and found a cost that had not been previously disclosed to us and, as a result, was able to negotiate the charge from the buyers settlement company to a mutually satisfactory amount.All of this professionalism produced a quick sale for an amount beyond our expectations more than offsetting the cost of preparing the property for sale. David made things easy for us, provided great confidence in him, produced great results, and made us comfortable during the entire process.
