My husband and I decided to sell our dream home of 17 years this spring 2016 after the last of our children left for college. We knew that even though it was a high end custom built home designed by a well known and poplar architect that it would be a challenge to market and sell. We built the house in a very special cul de sac of only 5 houses on a private drive . Since its on a private drive that is only accessible through a subdivision of lower priced houses , it's kind of a secret place. We loved it and and it was a perfect place to raise kids but most houses in its price range are in high end subdivisions . Johnnie was recommended by a good friend who has lived in Knoxville his whole life and is a small business owner. After we met her we didn't even interview any one else. We were impressed with her from our first meeting. She is a delightful person and came off as confident , knowledgable of all aspects of the real estate business from how to price our house , how to market it and a general great understanding of the housing market specific to Knoxville. After a lot of dialogue with my husband and I she recommended pricing the house for an amount I thought was optimistic. She recommended what repairs and cosmetic changes we should make before we listed it. We did everything she asked from painting the interior a neutral color to changing the door hardware from brass to brushed nickel and replacing the ceiling fans. When we finally listed the house we did not have any viewings for several weeks. She did a great job of hand holding and promised me that the house would sell. In less than 12 weeks we had an offer ! During the negotiations I was very very impressed with her skills in the tense back and forth of negotiating prices. There were moments when my husband and I thought we should accept a price offer and Johnnie would come back and recommend we hold out for more money. In the end we got 96% of our asking price !!!! Johnnie and her fantastic assistant Allen were there for us every step along the way. She has been in this business for many years and and is very successful. After going thru the journey with her I can see why. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. I recommend Johnnie to any one in any price range who wants a real estate agent who will do everything in their power to sell your house at the best price.
