We undertook an extensive move from the United Kingdom to the United States and although we had a vague idea on the areas in Northern Virginia we were considering we didn't really know NoVA that well. We got in touch with Kristy Moyssiadis who worked extensively with us accross international boundaries in order to identify both areas and homes. She provided answers to all of our questions (and we had lots) covering schools, areas, communities the USA purchasing process and many other aspects. We talked through the things that are important to our family and she collated a shortlist of properties in various areas over a wide radius. We then flew in and met with Kristy who spent the whole day touring with us. Kristy lives in the Ashburn area and this meant she was able to provide first-hand, honest feedback about the schools, towns and homes which we found invaluable.We then continued internationally for a number of months while the moving process took its course. Kristy was very attentive even when not actively viewing homes which kept us connected. On later physical house hunting trips, Kristy again prepared, in conjuction with us, a list of properties for us to see and visited them all with us over a number of days. Overall our International house hunting process took around 9 months and at no point did we feel pressured to purchase something, nor were we ever asked to sign a contract or pay any fees to secure her services. This meant we felt relaxed with Kristy and The Spear Realty Group and their desire to assit us to find a home (rather than secure a sale).Kristy was always happy to meet us whenever we wanted, even if it meant disrupting her family time and we are very grateful.When we found our next home, we then signed a contract securing Kristy's services. Kristy was very easy to deal with in order to draw up and sign the contracts for the home and again, had no hesitation in answering all of the questions we had quickly and in clear language. The home purchase process is very different in the USA to the UK and Kristy was able to steer us through it effortlessly providing advise on how best to counter offers and what contingencies to include in a contract.Kristy was happy to put our requirements to the seller and happy to provide her expert feedback and opinion on any responses.Overall, the International home purchase experience and process was smooth and this is in no small part to the work of The Spear Realty Group and Kristy specifically. I would recommend them for anyone considering a move to the NoVA area and to those looking to move to the area internationally.
