I am so thankful that my wife and I had the opportunity to work with Scott Hangge. It was our first time buying a home, and he made the process smooth and simple, even in the midst of a hectic and competitive market. I really appreciated how thorough and detailed he was throughout the entire process.Before we even looked at a house he took time to go over details with me and to explain our options. He was always informative and never pushed hard; he simply wanted us to be informed buyers. Over the phone, he discussed all the items which he thought it prudent to get inspected and checked out when purchasing a home. He helped us to analyze costs so there would be no surprises in the home buying process. Even before the first showing we felt taken care of and that we were in good hands. Scott really made himself available to us, we looked at quite a few houses all over the cities. I really enjoyed the wealth of knowledge he brought to the table regarding mechanicals and construction. As we would walk through he was very good about letting my wife and I think things over; however, he also picked up on a lot of details, if there was a problem he would mention it.He never pushed hard for us to get any place we looked at; he did however help to gently steer us away from a few that had problems, or when he thought we could do better. He helped us to stay in our price range, and to sift through a myriad of properties to find the right one. While he was fairly passive in our decision-making process, giving us room to navigate and often only offering opinions when asked, he blew me away once my wife and I found a property we wanted to put an offer in on. He had us drive a few minutes away from the property where he worked on a game plan with us. While my wife and I decided on how much we wanted to offer he went above and beyond. He called and made friends with the sellers real estate agent; he found out a few key non-monetary details that were important to the seller and he built a rapport with that agent, letting him know we would be good stable buyers. Scott was able to put together an offer within a few hours of us letting him know we wanted one.Scott didnt stop there, no he was there for the entire process. When asked he gave us a list of home inspectors he has good experiences with; in true Scott fashion he didnt want to aEURoetell us who to useaEUR? and wanted to give us some options so that we could decide. The inspector we ended up using was phenomenal.After the inspection, Scott helped to assess which things we should ask for. And he negotiated a tough game, even in the midst of a competitive market. I will just say my wife and I walked away feeling like we did well. Scott showed up for the walkthrough inspection the day of signing, this is huge; many of my family members have not had this happen and have had things go wrong (missing/broken appliances etc); I know if we would have found anything amiss that he would have made it right before we had to sign. He was there when we signed all of our Title paperwork as well.In conclusion, we couldnt imagine having done this process without Scott. He was incredible. If you are looking for a real estate agent this is the guy you want! He is knowledgable, patient, honest, straightforward, transparent, and will help you find the place you are looking for. When it comes time to negotiate he knows his game and how to play hardball. Additionally, he was always several minutes early to everything, which doesnt hurt.
