I was looking for a place in NH and had been in comms with Cam prior to meeting in-person. Via email he seemed on top of things, and very helpful, but when we finally came to NH to see some houses, despite having made arrangements well in advance Cam was unable to show us homes because he had been double booked at an open house, so he passed us off to his associate who knew nothing about the area or any of the houses we were looking at - he was basically just there to open the door. When we found a house we were interested in and went back to view it a second time, Cam was there and proved to be either ignorant of issues with the home, or withholding, I couldnt tell which. We found mold on the windows of the home, and he tried to convince us that it wasnt mold, but then backtracked and said wed find that level of mold in any house we viewed in the area. Overall, he was definitely not on the buyers side, and even attempted to stifle basic due diligence measures in our walk through. We have since been working with a different realtor who truly wants us to find the perfect home, no matter how long it takes. She encourages us to find evidence of mold/other typical home issues, and even goes the extra length to take a look at the attic, whip out a flashlight to check for water damage, and point out things I wouldnt have noticed myself that inevitably changed my decision to move forward. That level of transparency & home expertise is what you want in a realtor - not someone who just pushes you to buy a house. I hope Cam learns something from this, and starts acting like a strategic partner to his clients, rather than glazing over home defects & banking on ignorance to make a quick sale.
