I worked with Tonya to buy my first home, a condo in inner SE Portland. She came recommended by a good friend of mine, who has worked with her multiple times before. I first met with Tonya quite a while before I was ready to buy and was still learning about the home buying process. In contrast to another realtor, who I had met with before, she didn't pressure me into moving forward before I was ready. She instead gave me a realistic understanding of where I needed to be financially.Once I was ready to buy I felt like Tonya was always there looking out for my best interests. This included finding me a new lender who provided me a lower rate than offered by the lender I was originally working with. She negotiated with the seller to give me additional time to review the somewhat complicated HOA documents, which gave me a lot of comfort that I wasn't putting myself at any unnecessary financial risk.We closed on time and I'm now typing this from my beautiful new place. I plan to be here for a long time, but if I have to buy or sell a place any time in the future Tonya will be the first person I call.
