Ive known Nathan and his family for about 10 years. When I became interested in buying a home I didnt hesitate to contact his wife. I was more than happy to give them my business and had full trust that they would be professional and attentive during the selling and buying process. I didnt negotiate Nathans commission because I felt his expertise and professionalism would be worth it. This stood true through the listing of my house and the purchase of my new home. The buyers had made some requests and I agreed to (and fulfilled) all of them ahead of the pre determined schedule. I did make one very embarrassing mistake; I replaced the master bedroom window with tempered glass instead of the master bathroom as requested. Because this was discovered 2 days before closing, I contacted a glass company and explained the issue, gave them my contact information and told them to expect to hear from the buyer. I sent Nathan the glass companys information to pass on to the buyer along with my sincere apologies and said to have the company contact me for payment when it was convenient for the buyers to have the window replaced. This is a project that takes one phone call from the home owner and the rest would be taken care of by me. Not a big deal, I thought. I received a call from Nathan after this happened, one day before closing. He ripped in to me about how he had agreed to sell my house and help me find a new home because we are friends and that my mistake had the potential to put his business relationships in jeopardy. He told me that my previous home should be move-in ready and not require work aEURoelike the one you bought needsaEUR?. Huh??? I was speechless. I decided to assume that hed had a stressful day or something. On the day of closing I was not present because Id signed the documents electronically. I texted Nathan and asked him to let me know when closing was complete. I received a text a few hours later: aEURoedoneaEUR?. No thanks for my business etc. By my calculations Nathan made over $25,000 from the sale of my home and the purchase of my new home. This was a few months ago and I have not heard anything since. I am still confused about the tone of his phone call and how everything ended after what I considered a relatively smooth transaction of both the sale of my old home and the purchase of my new home. I had recommended him to a friend of mine whose house is now on the market sadly with a different realtor after I relayed this story to them. Unfortunately I would not recommend Golden Gate Realty after this experience.
