To Whom It May Concern:I have had the opportunity to work with Monique Carter and her team at Carter and Associates Realty on both the selling side and buying side of the real estate process and they have been a great help each time. In 2013 I received a home by inheritance and wanted to sell the property fast without spending a lot of money on updates or improvements. I had a couple of real estate agents in mind and decided to contact Mrs. Carter after seeing her listed on Angies list with positive reviews and remembering her name from Christian radio advertising years ago. I assumed that because of her past activity on radio that she would be extremely busy and likely pass on my information to one of her associates but she was very hands on and accessible. Mrs. Carter met with me directly at her beautiful office, came out in person to view the home, and responded to any ongoing phone calls directly, returning my calls the same day, most times within one hour or less. The marketing plan for the home included a website offering a virtual tour and the home was accessible through most major real estate sites. To my absolute surprise several offers were made on the home within the first week of listing and a serious buyer with genuine intentions to keep the home long term and maintain the property was found within the first month of listing. More recently, I contacted Mrs. Carter after viewing properties on real estate sites for several months and becoming interested in purchasing a home again instead of living in an apartment. The greatest challenge I faced was getting pre-approved by a mortgage lender. I had significant savings and non-traditional monthly income from an annuity but I also had left my former job about a year ago and had very little credit history because I tried over the years to avoid debt. The first lender contacted was a credit union that I have an account with and I was turned down for the pre-approval process. The second lender contacted was another credit union that I have an account with and I was told that they could help, but that I would first need to apply for a credit card and use it for a while to build my credit score and develop positive credit history. Discouraged, I happened to receive an email from Mrs. Carter and decided to give her a call. She referred me to a mortgage lender that she has a good working relationship with and they sent me out with a pre-approval letter for the loan amount desired on the day of my initial office visit. I was able to connect with a very kind and professional real estate agent from the Carter and associates team and was able to find a home with lots of potential in a nice area within two months of the loan pre-approval. I am so glad to be able to move out of my apartment. While living in an apartment in Detroit my auto insurance costs were somewhat high and I also rented out a storage unit to have extra space for personal belongings. With the transition to my new home right outside of Detroit my monthly auto rates will reduce, and I have enough space in my basement to close out my storage unit. Overall my monthly expenses are slightly less for living in my own 1700 square foot home than living in a midtown Detroit studio apartment. Carter and Associates exemplify what any real-estate company should want to be. From the moment I walked in to Ms. Monique Carter's office I was greeted with a warm smile and sincere desire to help me find my Dream home. She told me upfront I'm on assignment from God....with that I knew I was in good hands. Her team Gary and Melvia whom I also had the pleasure of of working during my journey, showed me that they had my best interested. Starting out the year 2016 I knew I was in for bigger and better because of my Faith in God but, I did not imagine I would be in my own home within a short few months. I came to meet Ms Monique in February... It was very important to her to have that personal touch and to explain in great detail what it takes to purchase a home. In today's fast pace world we miss that and customer satisfaction is based on how quick you can answer a text or respond to an email. I appreciate her attention to my home buying needs and her availability to call with results. At no time did I feel I could not reach her or her staff. Today I write this note and can say with confidence Carter and Associate have won me as a life long client. I would recommend this team to everybody. When Monique says " Get ready for an amazing future"....if your ready...it's on the way! Again my search began in February shortly thereafter I saw a home place a bid but that offer did not get accepted. Of course it's not a good feeling to get turned down , but Monique prayed with me and assure me that what God has for me is for me and it would come without worry or doubt so I walked away from that ready to press forward . I put in another offer on a home I feel in love with ,and closed on it this May.How awesome is that!! I cant thank Carter and Associate enough for their hard work and diligence to see me through my first home buying experience.
