I worked with Brittany Burns to purchase my first new home. While Brittany was able to send me several listings, she did not act in my best interests whatsoever. As a first time home-buyer, I did not realize the degree to which she was negligent until after the documents were signed, delivered, and I arrived at the home with the key. Following my initial home inspection during the purchase process, the items that were supposed to be corrected were never re-inspected for verification of completeness and workmanship. Brittany went about everything very casually and did not explain much, nor did she ever walk the property with me. She simply gave me the code to the lockbox and I viewed the home by myself (scheduling was a bear because she almost always had personal reasons for delays or cancellations). Days before everything was scheduled to be signed, she instructed me to pop over to the house and check things out. I did so and connected with her via phone afterwards. She indicated on that call that my stopping by the home would count as my final walk through. I explained to Brittany that the current homeowner was still in the process of moving out and I expressed concern that she would be out by the designated date. Brittany never informed me that she was signing off on the home in the condition it was in when I popped in and called her directly afterwards. When I finally got the keys to my very first new home, I arrived there to find the garage full of junk and rugs covered in cat urine, the living room had furniture in it, the attic was full of debris and decking from where the roof had been repaired, the backyard was completely full of junk and garbage, and the back gate to the house had been damaged when the original owner left the residence. I also discovered, although not immediately, that the busted drain that had been reported in the inspection report to be repaired had never been repaired (I recently discovered this hadnt been done when my home started to have issues as a result of the water leaks.) I immediately called Brittany about the issues when I arrived at my home, but unfortunately, the only response I got was to aEURoerent a dumpster and get rid of everything and perhaps sell the furniture to offset costs.aEUR? I was incredulous. My experience with Brittany Burns highlighted her lack of professionalism, integrity, expertise, and knowledge. I truly hope she finds a profession in which she is successful so that other home owners dont face the same nightmares I have faced. I'm still dealing with the repercussions of her unprofessionalism two years later. Buyers BEWARE!!!
