When we first set out to buy a house, we were very much against having a realtor. We wanted to save as much money as possible and get the best deal possible, and in our minds, finding a home with no realtor involved was the best way to achieve that. We could not have been more wrong! I posted in a neighborhood Facebook group stating that we were looking for a house to see if I could find anyone interested in selling by owner. As I expected, several realtors in that neighborhood messaged me immediately with high pressure and empty promises. Theresa, however, was completely different. She reached out saying shed love to meet with us - no signing of a contract necessary! - just to go over all our options with us. No pressure, no promises of grandeur, just a simple aEURoehey, lets get some coffee and talk about things.aEUR? We decided to meet with Theresa, and we knew that we had to have her as our buyers agent. Theresa was clearly well-versed and knowledgeable about realty in North Carolina (which, as it turns out, is much different than where we moved from!). We also know that she would have our backs and fight for us 110%. Theresa ended up finding us an off-market in our dream neighborhood! Negotiations were fast and furious and intense. Several times, our sellers made offers to us (including moving up the closing date by a month!) - we would accept their terms, sign that addendum, and then they would drag their feet or try to back out of what they offered. Theresa did not allow this to happen. She held their feet to the fire and made sure they followed up on what *they* offered. Theresa kept in constant communication with us both - there was never a moment where I was left questioning or wondering what was going on. After an intense month, we made it to the closing table, and there is no doubt in my mind that we never would have seen it had it not been for Theresa. We cannot thank Theresa enough for how absolutely amazing she was during the entire process. We will forever be in debt to her for making our dream house happen!
