We had been stuck with a really lazy realtor that my parents found and preferred, who refused to answer calls, put in bids/offers for us, or inform us of how bids were going once they were made. We became so incredibly fed up that we started calling the real estate agents on the listing of every house we were looking at for a quicker viewing. One of those days, we met with four different agents, and at one point, we met Dill. My partner and I both instantly felt good about her, but still had one more meeting with another agent on a house in Gresham, so we tucked the name into our back pocket, and checked out the final house with that listing agent. We loved the final house, and while the listing agent was nice enough, the moment we walked out of the house, we called Dill, and that very night, she put in an offer for us. Maybe a day later, the owner of the house we wanted most accepted the offer; this of course was a short sale, so Dill cautioned us to continue our search. She also informed us that she got the offer in at 7k LESS than the asking price, which was a surprise to us, because as far as we knew, we were offering the full asking price. After the offer was accepted by the home-owner, we were in for a wait due to the property needing approval by two banks. Dill sent us listing after listing, and always persuaded us to keep an open mind. She also accepted our refusal to keep an open mind about certain things (we wanted no less than 2 baths, it had to have a minimum of 6k sq ft back yard, and must have a garage). We made it a tough search for her, and we were very needy- she was quick to respond to our texts, and another thing you should know about Dill is that she has an indestructable positivity. She could just as easily go into social work, helping the distraught with the attitude she has, but she chooses to take on even more of a challenge. She ALWAYS made time for us, as late as we were available. Sometimes she'd call us at random and ask us if we were available because she'd found a house she thought we'd love. Of course, those houses she showed us, we DID love, but often we'd make an offer, and there'd be six or so other offers on the property. She never stopped encouraging us. A few months into our short sale, a family member who was recieving the loan for us lost their job after many years. It was the most unforseeable thing to ever happen to our family, and it was devastating, and made us very fearful because we had limited options due to a unique circumstance (our occupation/credit/etc). Dill responded with a very calm and reassuring attitude and told us to just take a few days to breathe, and that we'd figure something out. Sure enough, we did, and she had been full of suggestions to keep us hoping, in the meantime. Not long after we got back on track with the loan issue, the two banks approved our offer on the house we'd originally wanted- the first house Dill put an offer in on. There was never a time we had any doubts about Dill, and we're very skeptical and critical people. She communicates, encourages, listens, and is absolutely full of brilliant ideas and suggestions. We must admit, we're a little bit sad that the buying procedure is all over. We no longer have a reason to text her and tell her we need her right away. We will recommend her to all of our friends and family, and if/when we buy another property down the line, we will return to the person who helped us get into our first home- a place we love, and a place we didn't settle for but wanted the most. Overall, there was not a single person of the many agents we met with that made us feel more comfortable than Dill. She's friendly and professional, and LGBT friendly as well.
