Its been 9 months now since we closed on our vacation home in Tahoe Donner. We absolutely LOVE our new home. We especially love the fantastic deal we got on the home, which could have not been possible without the aggressive negotiation skills and quick responsiveness of Janie and Kristis team. First, we have young children and busy jobs, so the vacation home shopping experience was daunting for us. We seriously could not have endured the process without Janie and Kristis patience and outgoing assistance. I cannot emphasize this enough! We are probably the worst sort of buyer--distracted with small kids running around and demanding jobs, but picky about wanting a turn-key vacation home in a great location for an amazing deal. I thought our expectations were unrealistic, but Janie found us our home. Janie has a relaxed approach, so we never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. However, Janie always had immediate information and answers for us due to her years of experience and lets get it done personality. Kristi has young kids of her own, so she was able to help us narrow down on Tahoe Donner as our ideal location with its amazing family amenities and sense of community. As I mentioned, we are extremely picky buyers who wanted a real deal, so we surprised ourselves that we were able to find a home with Janie in just a few trips to Tahoe. Janie spent entire weekends with us showing us as many homes as we wanted to see throughout the Tahoe basin. When we explored making offers on a few homes, Janie was able to immediately connect with agents and get us answers to help us make decisions. When we explored offering significantly less than the asking price, Janie never discouraged us and always said lets just try it. I really feel Janie and Kristis accessibility and drive helped us find our home with just a few trips. However, the real testament to Janies team was during the purchase/close process. When we made the offer, we offered significantly less than asking. Janie never once discouraged us from being aggressive with the offer. She supported us throughout the negotiations and even managed to get a response within hours (which was remarkable since the sellers were out of state). We purchased our home with a 30-day close, which required Janie and her team to be available at all hours of the day to respond to inspections, etc. The sellers agent is known to be extremely aggressive to the point of being challenging to work with, which was the case in our transaction. Janie and her team were excellent at managing the drama and even met with the sellers agent to keep the transaction alive. Our escrow occurred during the holidays, so there was naturally stress. Janie and her team were positive and upbeat throughout the process. In the end, we really could not have done it without her team. I only wish she could be our agent down here in the Bay area!
