I selected Jeff based on his great ratings so my expectations were relatively high. Jeff surpassed them. He was responsive, attentive to details, helpful, forthcoming with information. Jeff knows the Outer Banks very well, the players and the rental property business. As an aspiring rental property owner, all of this information was extremely helpful. Jeff gave me insight regarding locations and types of properties that really helped me narrow down my search criteria and firm up on my wants for a vacation/rental home. Jeff assisted beyond his role as a realtor and would often jump in offering to help out (calling people and even offering tools after property was purchased!). I worked with Jeff remotely and to be honest, when we first met in person I felt like I had known/worked with him much longer. He was such a likable and easy person to get along with and I would gladly work with him again. After closing and knowing I was alone in the area for the following several days, Jeff genuinely offered to continue offering assistance if needed. He meant it, Jeff is the real deal everyone!

In September, we found a house in Colington Harbour that checked all the boxes. It had just been listed online, and we wanted it! After some bad experiences, I decided to contact the listing agent directly, and Im glad I did. Lauren Rickard took my Sunday morning call, and I told her I wanted to get this house under contract. I made an over asking offer, and within 30 minutes, she had the documents back to me, and i was litteraly buying a home with my cell phone, thats 600 miles away. This home was very fairly priced, and because Lauren is a professional, our offer was accepted within hours. If not for her knowlage, and advise, this house would have been under contract to someone else. Lauren guided us through every step of the process, and was even presents during home inspections. We got our loan from a local bank, so Lauren was able to keep on everything for us. Even though I was 600 miles away, I never felt alone on any aspect of the process. Yes,....as usual, there was a glitch or two along the way, ( like 2 hurricanes while under contract) but she was completely honest, and upfront, and again,.......this deal would not have happened without her! Lauren is not only a true professional that cares, but is now, a true freind. If your relocating to the area, do lots of homework. We purchased a property in Outer Banks for a 2nd home, we live in Pennsylvania. We chose Jeff as our agent because of the excellent reviews we read about him, they were all true. Being from out of state we always had a very tight schedule to follow, Jeff always accommodated our needs and wants. As we looked at properties he would recommend what the property might need for the best rental potential. Once we found a property Jeff was an aggressive negotiator making sure we got the best deal possible. He went above and beyond setting up home inspection, sewer inspection, termite inspection and anything else we asked him to do.He negotiated money for repairs that were needed and gave us a list of local utilities and repairmen. Jeff gave us several ways to contact him and always responded promptly. If and when we purchase another property in the Outer Banks Jeff will be our realtor.
