Despite a purchasing process made extremely difficult by our lender's slow-moving progress and at times staggering incompetence, Bret professionally ensured a smooth purchase, and personally made sure all parties involved were informed and empowered, and made aware of all options. Leading up to the purchase, as we were looking at properties, Bret's availability and responsiveness were impressive. We were out of town during the shopping phase, and would show up with little notice to see if we could look at properties. Bret was very quick to respond in communication, and he was always available to show us whatever we wanted. His knowledge of the market and market history, and personal connections within the community, made us feel confident in our own purchasing decisions.Bret combines the utmost professionalism with personal care. He is the kind of agent who immediately recognizes his client's "style" - style of communication, style of operation, etc. - and operates accordingly. He processes input immediately and acts strongly on behalf of his clients. Our house purchasing experience hit many bumps (for various reasons but through no one's fault), and throughout every step Bret remained determined, understanding, and confident that "things would be worked out." Loved working with Bret and would highly recommend him! (He also helped my BFF and her mom purchase their homes in Truckee, too.) Three examples of ways that he impressed me:1) For one home that I was inclined to offer on, he advised against making an offer, as he was concerned it wouldn't meet my hopes and dreams in the long-run without significant additional cost. (Fast-forward a couple of months, and I've just closed on a home I'm thrilled about.)2) When he was out of town one weekend during my search, Bret quickly set me up with a trusted colleague to show an interesting just-listed property to me. Given how hot the market has been, I appreciated the sense of urgency, flexibility, and teamwork Bret and his colleague exhibited.3) Bret's support staff at Coldwell Banker is also amazing. The Transaction Coordinator assigned to me was A MACHINE -- she deftly wrangled all the details to get me through the purchase process and kept my lender and the title company on track for an on-time close.
