I have to start with saying that I was always a little skeptical about the role of the realtor as I had done 3 other real estate transactions which were done with very limited involvement of the realtors. I mean we found the property ourselves online and went to open house and decided to buy it and because of competitive bay area market, we bought it AS IS and without a negotiation. Our realtors didn't even care to read the disclosures carefully and only submitted the offer and luckily we won and there was minimal interaction until the closing day....BUT, this time we had a totally different experience...we decided to move to east bay and we fell in love with a house that Vlatka had put in the market and we bid on that house and didn't get it but by talking to Vlatka, my wife and I both realized how knowledgeable and experienced she was and more importantly she showed her honestly immediately. We decided to work with Vlatka to find our dream house and she was nothing short of exceptional and totally changed our view of realtors...She was always available by phone, email, or text...she was very accommodative even though few times we asked for short notice showings, evening/night showing, cancellation, etc...More importantly she brought her experience and honest opinion to every house we saw and we realized that she was not trying to just sell us A house, she definitely took time to understand what we wanted and didn't want us to buy anything less that what we had in mind...Multiple times she saved us a trip from SF to east bay as she went and previewed the house and told us the house was not something we wanted or we should not buy the house for a specific reason...At times we were a little frustrated with the crazy market and showed some flexibility to bid on something less ideal but she didn't let us do it and made her life more difficult to make sure we find what we want.Finally we did find a house that met all our criteria and luckily this time our offer won but the closing process was very complicated due to our overseas travel and buyers financial issues...Vlatka was amazing throughout the long closing process and navigated all the issues calmly. She went above and beyond her responsibilities numerous times and made sure that the transaction was going to happen smoothly. Vlatka has rare to find qualities and she knows history of most houses in every street, she is very hard worker, honest, knowledgeable and will have your interest first! Not only we found a great house, we found a great friend and for sure, we will use Vlatka for future real estate transactions. She has earned our highest recommendation for anyone who is looking to buy or sell a house in Lamorinda.
