Re: Kathy Weithman representing me as the buyer of her listing.First off I should mention the property is an RV lot that Kathy Weithman has listed in Punta Gorda currently priced at 15,999 and has been on the market for nearly 2 years. She may be driven to provide better service by a larger commission but for me, this was my experience with Kathy Weithman at Paradise Park 46900 Bermont Rd Punta Gorda, FL.At first she was really helpful with general questions about the property and area etc. After having her send me paperwork for my offer of 10k, I decided, before signing, I had better do my own long distance homework from Minnesota.I discovered a big list of issues with lot 168 all of which I shared with her in a detailed email. Among the issues was the lot size that she continues to list at 42ft wide, it's not, it's 30ft wide. Big difference when planning out your space for a motorhome with slideouts. The other information shared with Kathy Weithman was the front, side and back setbacks and the current position of the screen porch and shed. After my research on park restrictions and building codes, it was determined that the position of the screen porch and shed would need to be moved as the old phase 1 builds set the 10ft wide screen porch centered on the 30ft wide lot, not allowing enough room for a motorhome with a slideout. That's a big deal! All the buildings would need to be detached and lifted and moved. Along with that, electrical, plumbing and all other utilities would need to be re done AND added concrete to place the buildings where there is currently grass.So, after sharing all that with Kathy Weithman, I asked her to change my 10k offer to 2k and send me paperwork. She then stopped all communication with me... just cut me off! In hopes to share my offer, and the reason behind it, to the sellers I actually had to contact another real estate agent to assist me. They, or she, said the sellers are not interested in selling at that price and refused to counter offer. To this day I doubt she even presented the offer to the out of state sellers. Because I didn't believe that she presented my offer to the sellers, and I questioned her on that, she was annoyed with me, contacted my agent and told her to lecture me on "proper etiquette". That's funny... maybe now, after my review, she will follow her own advise. Start with listing the correct lot dimensions!
