When you get a good real estate agent, you're not just getting access to their expertise and insights about the market and the process. You're getting access to their relationships. And at every turn, Diskin's relationships gave us an edge. Diskin helped my wife and I sell our home for $95K over asking price (we had more than 30 offers) and buy our new home with an offer that was $25K less than the highest offer. Whatcom County is a seller's market right now, and some people wonder why you'd even need an agent when you're selling. With Diskin, we got a level of local market research we never would've been able to conduct ourselves. Prices are all over the place right now and changing so fast, but Diskin validated a price based on what had sold nearby and identified a pricing gap in the market that would attract greater interest. Diskin also considered which aspects of our house would be most appealing and attention-grabbing in the moment, highlighting a possible office location we hadn't considered. Every possible showing we could've had for our house was booked. I believe there were over 70 separate showings from Thursday to Monday. Since we weren't sure how long it would take to find and buy a house, Diskin negotiated a rent back period that allowed us to stay in our old home for over a month after closing. This cushion was crucial for our family, and he made it work better than we could've imagined. On the buying side, Diskin never batted an eye when we asked to see a house, and he wasn't afraid to tell us his genuine opinions. With his past experience flipping houses and working with contractors, he was happy to share connections that could make repairs fast or affordably if something came up in a pre-inspection. We placed offers on four houses and ultimately got the fourth one. Every step of the way, Diskin shared the strategies that would make our offer the most competitive, and even on the houses we lost, we were one of the better offers. Diskin's relationships with other agents proved invaluable to us as we gauged where we stood, where we should focus our time and energy, and what would make our offers stand out most to a specific buyer. We plan to stay in this house for a long time, but if we ever buy or sell again we'll use Diskin again, and we will absolutely recommend him to our friends and family.
