What clients say about this agent....
Homeowners don't like to admit regretting something about their purchase - but I do have to admit to one. That regret being to work with Vinny and to not trust my gut early on to move on from him.The many five-star reviews baffle me. I do understand that he's a nice guy, fun to talk to, probably great to grab a drink with. But, he's the farthest from an advisor you can imagine - and I think that's what you want in someone helping you with a multi-hundred thousand dollar purchase.I'll share my honest and fair take here because I believe for such an important purchase, you deserve someone who will help you along the way and serve in your best interest. In a way, it's a civic duty for my community so others don't have the same experience as we did.Pros: - He can be funny. A peculiar guy with some interesting quirks. - He seems to have lots of friends in the industry. - I have to admit, I like the wine glasses he gave us at the closing.Cons: - Laughter helps most of the time, especially with such a serious purchase. But sometimes, jokes need to stop and real work needs to happen. When someone started talking about structural and quality issues in the home, he'd joke it off and change the subject on us. It seems he knows very little about homes, and wants to hide that. - You can't tell if he's working for you, or with his industry friends to get the deal done and move on to his commission and next clients. - He consistently "has to" leave early. He didn't even stay for the whole closing. - He's consistently late. Last There, First Out. - Regarding the buying process, hopefully you're well-versed in it. He may tell you when to do something, like provide an offer letter, but you're basically on your own to create it. You would think he at least has a template or example after decades in the business. - For what little documentation he may create for you, he leaves it riddled with embarrassing spelling errors. - He offers little-to-no negotiation advice, really. His take was essentially "just pay the asking price". When a bidding war began, he just told us to keep going higher. When the inspection returned with a bunch of issues, he offered no advice in what the sellers would be responsible for (fortunate we had a great inspector at least). Can't really tell if he's your buying agent or if he's just working with the selling agent to get the sale done. - He never sent us a single home to look at. We looked on our own. We found the home we went with on our own. He didn't even show up until the second viewing. We never were added to the MLS database to be sent home that meet our criteria. - When we asked to look at another home, he refused. He pushed back and told us to stay focused on the first one that we found. The one time we asked him to do his job and arrange a viewing for a home we were interested in, he wouldn't. We had to on our own. Is that really serving your clients? So no houses provided, no guidance given, no true assistance, no support in finding the perfect home, no negotiation, decent wine glasses.I hope I clearly illustrated what to expect. Vinny is a nice guy, so it makes sense that after people are so excited about their home purchase that they then rate him well here. But, he offers little help or guidance. When making the largest purchase of your life, establishing your own little kingdom, ask yourself if you want the king's jester or the king's advisor at your side. Choose carefully.
Anyone looking to purchase or sell a residence in Rhode Island, Alex is your guy. I was a first time home buyer at 22 years old, and Alex helped me find the perfect home in Jamestown (not an easy task). He helped me figure out what I could afford, and then went out on the hunt for the home that fit my situation and I best. Within a week we had our first few showings and they were all exactly in line with what we were looking for. Within another week we saw a few more homes and found the house for us. This is where Alex got to showcase his true talents. He was able to negotiate the price down quite substantially to a price point we never dreamed of reaching. Within two weeks of deciding this house was right for us, we had an offer accepted and deposit made. We were then connected with a great mortgage agent and everything was smooth sailing from there till close. Alex made the experience fun, exciting, and memorable as a first time home buyer. I am very happy with Alexs services and will be a returning customer for many years to come!
We were new to Newport real estate but quickly felt at home with the process once we met Alex. He is very plugged into the pulse of both rental and primary property sales. Additionally, his agency was full service and we will continue to benefit from the relationship.
Alex was our buying agent for our new home. He is very personable and accommodating to his clients. He takes the extra time to learn about your interests and uses his expertise to help you find your dream home! He is always available via phone and makes himself available at the drop of a hat when you need to meet in person. He has an expansive network and can get you answers fast. I highly recommend Alex and his team to help you find what you are looking for.
Alex was professional and responsive at all times. As out-of-state buyers, we relied greatly on his expertise and perspective to find the perfect home for us. Flexible, amiable, and responsible, Alex made the entire purchasing process easy and efficient.
My husband and I met Alex at an open house in Narragansett and immediately connected , he is bright, witty , extremely knowledgeable of his craft and very easy to work with. Our home finding experience took us on a 2 year journey with Alex as the market in our preferred area was very limited , during the whole time he was always available at our convenience and looked out for our best interest . While we were traveling overseas to our son's wedding Alex took the initiative to find and personally tour the property which is now our home at his own time and related all aspects with pictures and videos for us to be prepared once we returned home and ready to make our offer with Alex's guidance. We would highly recommend Alex and Ecaterina to anyone looking for their dream home, we know you will be extremely happy with your experience with Alex and the Edge Realty team of professionals.
With Alex's help, we went from considering to start looking at houses, to closing in under two months. Alex didn't rush or pressure us, and walked us through how this could be a multi-year process. However, with his contacts, and some helpful advice on the financial side, we're in a home that we love and has everything we were looking for. We're thrilled with our closing price and the other points Alex helped negotiate. We were so pleased with Alex as a buying agent, that we asked him to help us list another rental home. Alex had our rental filled with excellent tenants in perfect timing to go along with our move. I would recommend Alex to anyone looking to buy, rent, or list in the Newport or South County areas.
Alex recently helped me to find and purchase an investment property in Narragansett. He is knowledgeable about the area, and has first hand property management and investment experience which gives him a very useful and realistic perspective when assisting buyers who are interested in investing in real estate. Not all agents have this expertise and for me, it was critical and so incredibly helpful. He is also incredibly resourceful, helpful and responsive.I highly recommend Alex.
Alex is super friendly and helpful to us, we had a great experience working with him! I would definitely recommend Alex for your future house hunting.
We met Vin almost by chance after requesting a showing at a house. While that first house wasn't for us, we were fortunate to have met up with Vin. He helped us sharpen the idea of what we were looking for, and then once we found it - was a great resource in moving through the purchase process. His local knowledge and excitement for the area of North Kingstown and Wickford was infectious and gave us a wealth of information to get started with our new neighborhood.
