I have been a full-time real estate agent since March of 2004. First in Tennessee and then in Colorado. The years in the real estate business have provided me with great experience and skills that my seller's and buyer's find valuable. I'm not only there for the transaction, but there afterwards, as well to serve you with any other real estate needs, answer questions about the area, provide referrals for any type of vendor you might need. I work on a team with my son, Ben. I am the leader of the team and together we are able to have the flexibility to meet with clients on their schedule. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
First, find a Realtor that has experience and knowledge. Let them guide you with lenders, inspectors, etc. The transactions that seem to have the most difficulties are when a buyer chooses to use a lender that's out of state, not familiar with the market here, as well as other vendors that aren't coming with a recommendation.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Make sure your home is ready to sell before jumping the gun and putting it on the market. We provide you with a full price analysis, as well as direction on getting it prepared for market. You typically will have only One opportunity with buyers, so you want to be ready when they come to look. Coupled with that is to try and remove all emotion, sentimentality, etc. from the transaction. Buyers are looking for their home, to make their memories in.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
All types: families, single people, investors, flippers, buyers, sellers, estates, those going through divorce.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
One client we recently had is a woman who had her home on the market with another agent and the other agent "bailed" on her vs. telling her the truth about what needed to happen to get her home sold. She called in a panic and we had it on the market in a matter of just a few days, priced correctly, and under contract in less than two weeks for full list price ($560,000). She can now move onto her home on the west coast and realize the dream she's been waiting to live is now a reality.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
From the time my parents sold my childhood home, I had an interest in real estate. After a few other careers, I moved into real estate and haven't looked back.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
My background was in ministry and one thing that I learned there was the ability to listen well, determine what people's true, felt needs were and try to create options for them to have those needs met. That's really what we try to do on either the listing side or buying side of a transaction is to hear what your needs are and then create solutions for those needs.
