Shirmel Gumbs-Heyliger

Shirmel, a U.S. Army Veteran, was raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands. As a Soldier, Shirmel learned a great deal about efficiency and logistics. She transitioned to a role tirelessly providing support and guidance to deployed military members and their families as a Family Assistance Center Coordinator, which she thoroughly enjoyed. After a career opportunity was presented to her husband, Shirmel moved to Houston in 2012 with her family of 5 and absolutely fell in love with the city and its people. Houston's diversity in food and culture, forward-thinking and booming economy are a big draw and she is excited to be a part of the experience. Together with her husband and sons, she enjoys exploring the various neighborhoods, biking trails, shopping, dining and generally enjoying Houston life. Her desire to become a real estate agent began when she assisted a family friend in finding his dream home and the experience grew on her.
