Shayla grew up in the small town of Stevens Point, WI , where she graduated from UWSP with a Business Administration degree & minors in both International Studies & French in '01, she moved to sunny Sarasota, where her brother was attending Ringling School of Art and Design. Soon after, she began selling residential real estate. Having practiced at RE/MAX Properties, SKY Sotheby's International Realty, Michael Saunders & Co & Dwell Real Estate, she was able to glean lots of market knowledge, best practices & negotiation techniques along the way. Located at Coldwell Banker, Shayla specializes in luxury & waterfront properties from: Lakewood Ranch, University Park, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Lido Key, Bird Key, Siesta Key, all of Sarasota, Osprey, Nokomis, Venice Zillow, Casey Key & Manasota Key! Her diverse background, travel experiences & education assist her while working with international clients, as she can also converse in both French & Turkish. Animals, especially dogs, are her passion, as she enjoys contributing her time & efforts to anything related to the sort, particularly the Lakewood Ranch Humane Society. When she's not working, she likely will be in the gym, as she's an avid trainer and has even competed some years back. Additionally, she thoroughly enjoys seeing other areas of the world. FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Seek out a very hyper local realtor who fully listens to what you truly want and need in a home and neighborhood. Make sure you're being heard and that the agent is results driven! And they focus on communication as well as under promising and aiming to over deliver to you as their customer!
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Make sure you interview agents. Ask that agent if he/she is full time. What their track record is. What they plan to do to market/advertise/sell your home. Ask for references or reviews. Ask that they show you their average days on market and a history of pushing prices up for his/her sellers. Do you accompany the showings? What about feedback? How do you manage appraisals, inspections and so on? There are so many questions to ask
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
So many walks of life over my career. From first time buyers to savvy investors, luxury and uber luxury. Primary and secondary home owners. Vacation homes and so on. I specialize in waterfront and luxury homes but have assisted so many clients with new construction, land transactions and much more. I have exceptional referral partners around the globe whether you need a commercial agent in another state or relocating or just need to remodel your bathroom here in my markets. I aim not just to sell your home or help you find a great property to purchase, but be a resource forever for you and for your referrals!
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
My Palmer Ranch listing - it was both a referral partner referral AND we went pending with 37 days, had a cash contract and closed 2 weeks later. It was cool being the second agent on the listing and seeing the client so pleased was just priceless to me. And to be able to send off that referral fee to my referral agent partner just made me smile big! The whole transaction felt GREAT!
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
Right out of college... I landed into it and have never looked back. After graduating in 2001 I moved to Sarasota, took 6 months off to goof off, hit the beach and get burned {Ha} one too many times, but then within 6 months I was licensed and raring to go - oh little did I know - HAHA
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

Shayla is excellent. We had to sell a home remotely after a family member became ill and had to move. Selling a home from across the country is immensely complicated, but Shayla and her team made the entire process smooth and seamless. Highly recommend!

We were in Illinois and looking on line at a home in Sarasota that happened to be listed by Shayla. She and her assistant Shaela were so helpful that we continued to use them for our hunt. They were responsive and fast which helped us get the house we wanted. Shayla offered good advice on pricing and negotiation. Shaela was on top of every detail and all the paperwork, which we appreciated as we weren't familiar with the FL purchasing process. We actually put in an offer and signed a contract without seeing our home in person. We did a video walk through with Shayla showing us the home and describing it in detail. Definitely would recommend this duo.

Chris has been an exceptional agent to work with, and made the process of buying my first home pleasurable. He took the time to explain all the details of how the process works from viewing homes, to making an offer, negotiating and closing. As an international buyer, I felt at ease with Chris and his excellent knowledge of the Sarasota real estate market. He was exceptionally responsive, super quick to get back to me with all the little questions that I had, worked late into the evenings sometimes so as to make sure that my offer was revived by the seller as quickly as possible, and advised me on how best to proceed once we got into negotiations. I felt that Chris was not out to make a quick buck, but rather genuinely interested in helping me find exactly what I wanted, taking the time to curate homes for me, and to show me as many as I wanted to see. I highly recommend him to any buyer/seller in the Sarasota market, and would gladly use his services again. Thanks for all your help Chris aEUR" you made the process so easy and it was a pleasure to work with you.

Shayla and her experienced team do it all. They are networked into the community here locally and nothing is more important than being able to pick up the phone and connect buyers and sellers. When there was a showing, and the alarm was malfunctioning, who hashed it out on the spot with the alarm company and made sure the showing went well, Shayla did. The technology is superior, Docusign and paperless contracts make changes a breeze, I did almost everything from my phone. Do not rely on a part time Realtor who does 2 closings a year. Go with a pro who is young, hungry, and knows the ropes of the industry.
