She started her career in Real Estate working for an Appraiser James W. Shelton & Associates as a Secretary learning the ropes from the ground up while attending The College of Southern Maryland where she studied Art and Photography, winning numerous awards and shows. She later entered the Title side of the industry at Jarboe Title as a Processor and later with Preferred Title as a Processor, Settlement Officer and Marketing Specialist, and most recently with Resource Title as Production Assistant and Processor. Shawn has also worked as a Mortgage Lender with HCI Mortgage, Capital Mortgage and 1st Mariner Mortgage. Her wealth of knowledge from all the various aspects of the Real Estate field sets her above the rest as a valuable source of information for all her clients. A resident of the Southern Maryland transplanted from Southern California as a child she prides herself in giving the Red Carpet Treatment to each and every Buyer, Seller and Renter. Shawn is fantastic to work with! She is very knowledgable, friendly and truly cared about our family and our needs. No matter what time of day or night it was, if we had a question Shawn would respond. If we wanted to schedule a showing, she made it happen. She made our experience fun, easy, stress-free, and very informative. She was verrrrry patient with us and helped walk us throughout our home buying process. And it didn't stop when the offer was accepted - she assisted and negotiated throughout our closing process! Shawn was extremely professional and committed to helping us sell our house and purchase a new one - two things that needed to happen in tandem for us - and while we came up against several challenges along the way, Shawn kept a level head and helped us navigate all of them. She went above and beyond making daily calls (multiple times a day) on our behalf to keep our house sale moving forward when things started dragging with our buyer. She also knew just what we were looking for and found us the perfect new home for our growing family. Shawn even found us new movers when we needed them at the last minute. We were working with a different realtor at first from one of the larger more nationally recognized companies with someone who has a real great reputation. After it seemed we were not a priority because she was working with so many other clients, probably with larger budgets, and putting in several offers (always above asking) but bring rejected, we decided to go with someone else when we started to look at houses again, a year later. I am glad we found Shawn because she actually seemed to want to work hard with us to get a home. Setting up times to see the houses we wanted was easy, and her input was genuine and helpful. I think shes a funny and energetic lady and that helps because buying a house can be stressful. We got the house we wanted, a good deal and it happened quick. She worked with our lender and he was impressed at how on top of it all she was. Bonus: We are military and she was working with Homes for Heros so that was also a plus for us. A positive experience and outcome for our first home thanks to Shawn.
