What clients say about this agent....
Sadly there is not way to give zero stars! If you are looking for a stressful experience from beginning to end, this is your guy. If you are looking for little to no guidance throughout the process, this is your guy.Yes, it is true, the house was sold. But it is more likely that it sold because of current market conditions than anything this realtor did to make it happen. My personal experience was terrible. The lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and organizational skills reflect poorly on his trade, his manager and Keller Williams. I received negative feedback from others that came in contact with him and I personally felt as if he was doing me a favor. He provided zero guidance regarding the appearance of the house, zero advise on what to fix so that it would show better, zero feedback on how to the set the initial asking price, printed no flyers, and basically sat on his hands while I did all the work to get the house ready. Provided no direction regarding the closing process, missed required inspections, and he would often take a day or longer to respond to texts and emails, and sometimes only after prompting. His main contribution to this sale was listing the house and sending me poorly written and formatted electronic documents for me to complete, initial and sign. I have sold or purchased 4 homes in my life, and I have never had such a bad experience. I truly regret the day I agreed to sign with him, and judging by other reviews I saw on this board, I am not alone in that sentiment. I would never ever recommend this individual to anyone. In fact I will likely go out of my way to do the exact opposite.
This guy was assigned not by my choosing to show me homes from one of the main realtor sites. With the 1st place he was scheduled to show, he ended up delaying it a week it which resulted in the property going under contract with someone else.I looked at two other homes with him. With the first one, we were running 20 minutes later than the scheduled time and gave a hour notice prior to arrival of the delay. Upon arrival, it seemed he was more interested in establishing rapport with the seller than us the buyers. After the 2nd showing he was pushy into making a sale referring to the pictures online as a sure means to know what we want before actually looking at the property in person. The third home he showed he showed little preparation and said 'I do not know' in a condescending manner as he looked at his phone scheduling another showing when asked if a hot tub was in working condition or not. He referred to choosing a home like choosing to buy a steak at a restaurant.A fourth home that was scheduled to be looked at he refused to show because he didn't like it.We had a little talk about how I'll be making decisions regarding want i want in a property to purchase and that it was agreed to show. We also had a little talk regarding how buying a home is much more important decision than ordering a steak at a restaurant. He proceeded to chastise us for being 20 minutes late initially as somehow that excuses all this behavior despite the apology an hour in advance. The experience was interesting as I was pre-approved for mortgage. Needless to say that was the last time working with him and currently have purchased a home through someone else. Going through the process, I can only imagine how this would have went going through him.
Scott Thompson is a horrible real estate agent. Scott initially comes across as enthusiastic and friendly, when in fact he is disorganized, lazy and rude. After dealing with him, we really believe that Scott does very little actual work and is busy doing things other than real estate. Professionally he is a mess. He over valued our house by $50,000 (10%). We realized he was unrealistically valuing it much higher than all agents but had to take the gamble that he could get more than everyone else. We also listed with Scott because he was charging a total (selling and buyer agent) of 3.25% vs. 6% commission. We never saw fancy brochures of our house, nor was the house staged as he advertises. His professional photographs werent as good as the ones we took.Scotts writing skills are pathetic. He continuously misspells names and his verbiage usually contains typos or mistakes. This caused him to redo the listing and purchasing contracts multiple times. Each time it caused us more of our time and energy to scrutinize. We thought it would make it easier for Scott and eliminate his mistakes by emailing him a list that he could simply copy and paste into the contract. He screwed that up as well and then had the nerve to yell at me and demand I give him the list over the phone. I had to point out to him that he works for us and not the other way around. Scotts communication skills are atrocious. More often than not, he didnt address questions. He just ignored them. On the rare occasion he replied to our text or email, it usually was several hours later with a reply that was incomprehensible. It was gibberish or fragmented so badly his reply rarely made sense. Phone calls with him were painful. He used a poor quality microphone that garbled his voice and there were usually sounds in the background that sounded like children screaming.During the contract process, Scott refused to counsel/guide us in counter offers, repair offers, etc. He kept insisting that we had a great offer that we should accept. He failed to forward relevant information to the title company before and after settlement. He also tried to overcharge us for his services. In conclusion, we ended up making several price cuts and finally sold our house for what other agents had estimated, which is what our initial listing price should have been. So we were somewhat misled by Scott believing he could get us more than everyone else. He didnt. Scott made the process frustrating. We had to review multiple versions of each document for new mistakes and typos. Just review his Agent Profile on his Facebook page for a sample of his pathetic writing skills. His communication skills are atrocious as is his professionalism. Who wants to be yelled at by their real estate agent because he cant do his job well? If he is really as good as he says he is, and has been in the business for 30 years, why arent there more reviews of him?Scott is the worst real estate agent we have ever come across. We recommend that you avoid him at all costs.
Scott remained courteous and professional throughout what was my first homebuying experience. Although there will always be unexpected bumps along the road, Scott was quick to smooth over those bumps in an effort to "marry" the client with exactly the home they are looking for. It takes a special kind of individual to befriend a client and get to know them in such a short span of time in order to get the right home at the right price instead of wasting finances at a higher rate in apartment rental. Scott remained tireless in his efforts 24-7 until the job was done. I would gladly recommend Scott Thompson to anyone without reservation.
Experienced and professional. Mr. Thompson did a great job helping us find our new home. He was allways available and willing to assist/educate us on our concerns. He is very punctual, insightfull, personable, and professional. We are very glad we worked with him.
Scott possesses a great deal of knowledge and experience in real estate. He is very sincere and energetic with regard to finding the right home for his clients and pricing homes to sell. He is a man of integrity. Scott made my Wife and I feel like we were Family members. Scott Thompson is highly professional and personable. He does his research not only of what houses are on the market but is knowledgeable of the area as well. He is highly dependable, answers calls quickly, can read his clients and know when to move on to other houses and areas. He is innovative More
Scott made sure that all the important, as well as trivial, aspects of a home purchase were addressed to include knowledgeable home inspection by a highly qualified home inspector, pest inspection, property appraisal, and the provision of necessary documents in a timely fashion. It was a pleasure working with him and there was no pressure to purchase any property until we were completely satisfied with what we were looking for, in the price range we were limited to. He suggested options available to us when negotiating pricing on the property and was genuinely interested in making us happy with our decision.
Scott was very helpful during every stage of us buying a home. He showed us different properties we may be interested in, was knowledgeable about the neighborhoods we were considering, and had a lot of helpful suggestions for negotiating our contract. Within a week we found our perfect home and signed a contract. He has aided us greatly in becoming first time homeowners and I would highly recommend him.
