Since 1995, I have been involved in over 30 real estate transactions and have done deals with every major Realtor in Huntington Beach. Most of them are very nice and are quite proficient at selling themselves to you. Unfortunately, most of them are not very bright and cannot seem to master the principle of returning a phone call or taking a minute out of their day to give you a simple follow up on the open house that displaced you on a Sunday afternoon. Several are sleaze balls that specialize in buying the listing (they tell you your house is worth a ton of money to get you to list with them) only to have them hammer you to reduce your price a week or two after you sign with them. Many are not good students of human nature with is critical in ascertaining what the other side is thinking and how to make strategic moves that make the most sense. Scot Cambell sold my house on Trinidad Island last year and did a great job. We came up with a realistic listing price, he arranged to stage it (I had already moved out) , had it photographed and put together a spectacular print and digital marketing campaign, and after a weeks worth of arduous negotiations, had a price with which everyone was happy! He arranged to have someone from his office for all the inspections and repairs too. Best of all he doesnt need to ask his boss for permission for anything, hes the broker, he even owns the building! He can and will do whenever is ethnically necessary to get a deal done. Best of all: he returns calls ASAP or will actually answer it. Its the little things, right?
