Take my advice. Hire Sandy Baker. Heres why: In the spring of 2022 I began researching and interviewing realtors to sell my home. Sandy was the first person I talked to. After our initial conversation, Sandy did market research, set up an online meeting (I was out of town) and provided good advice about price point and what I needed to do to get the house ready to hit the market at the right time for a dollar top-dollar sale. Sandy didnt rush that meeting and answered all of my extensive questions. I was impressed with her thoroughness and professionalism, but because Im distrustful of realtors I continued researching real estate companies and started work on refurbishing the house. During this process, Sandy continued to occasionally check in with me. She didnt push, but provided advice on how the real estate market was progressing and nudged me forward in getting my house on the market. Although I still hadnt committed to working with Sandy, her consistent and helpful communication helped foster a trusting relationship. In the fall when I called Sandy to finally meet me at the house I felt like I already knew her. Still, I told her flat out that I didnt trust realtors. She wasnt phased by this and we discussed next steps. After one more meeting, at last, I signed the listing agreement. This was the best real estate decision Ive ever made. Sandy put the house on the market at the right price point and there was immediate interest. She found a good buyer with a good offer. Then fate played its hand and Sandys real mettle shined. A storm blew a tree down, filled the yard, and damaged part of the neighbors fence. Again I was out of town, but Sandy had been stopping by to check on the house and discovered the issue. She called me immediately and had the resources to fix the problem. She communicated with the neighbor, the contractor, and the buyers agent and made sure that the sale was on. Then, a week before closing, a leak sprung in the dishwasher line. Again, Sandy had stopped by the house to check on things and again found the issue. The water had damaged the downstairs kitchen, living room, and dining room. Many of the kitchen cabinets, the floor, and part of the walls in the living room and dining room needed repair. The damage was extensive. I had no idea the amount of work that this problem would entail. Also, circumstances made the process even more difficult: The buyer needed to move into the house to start a new job. He needed somewhere to live. The holidays were coming with all the associated work and communication delays. Legal aids were rude and threw molasses into the process. I had trip planned and would be out of the country. The repair process was lengthy and required communication with contractors, the insurance company, and with the buyers real estate agent. Time constraints made the process more stressful. Sandy was a world champ. She engaged vendors and contractors that she trusted and with which she had working relations. She handled stressful communications with all parties and Im telling you, This. Took. Time. She accomplished all of this with professionalism, grace, tact. I couldnt included all the gory details here, but they were formidable. Sandy was there with me every step of the way. She was a partner and became a friend. I am certain that the outcome of this whole process would not have been successful (and I may have lost my marbles) if Sandy had not been ?on my team?. The house was finally ready and closed at the end of January 2023. The buyer stuck in there with us ? because Sandy made it so. I cannot recommend Sandy highly enough. She is a gem, a saint, a rock star. You can do no better than to hire Sandy Baker.
