Originally from the Pacific Northwest, my family and I relocated to Florida in 2008 when my husband of over 20 years was offered an incredible job. After my first year of living in Florida, I knew this is where we belong. My family and I love the variety of activities, the year around sun, and the endless beaches. I am a person who still believes in customer service. My theory I live by is the " Customer Comes First.aEUR? I pride myself on excellent service. Background I have over 15 years of service experience including insurance, marketing, and financial accounting expertise. With a degree in Accounting, and many years of insurance sales, I decided to take all of my skills and invest them in a real estate career. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
The best advise I can give is to get pre-approval with a lender. This way you know how much you can afford to purchase without looking at homes that are over your budget.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
You need to stage your home with minimal personal belongings. The less "clutter" the bigger your home will look to a prospective buyer. Also, wipe down the trim, doors, baseboards, and switches. People always forget these and to a buyer, they look at this to see how clean a seller is. Typically, a buyer will say they must take great care of the home since these items are nice a clean.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of buyers and sellers from fresh out of high school to retirees. Many first time home buyers and people looking to downsize their home. I have worked with people looking for $15k lots to very expensive homes. I feel everyone deserves the same type of treatment and consideration no matter how much they can afford to spend.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I once worked with a first time home buyer who was pregnant with their second baby. The dad was working out of the country and she was trying to do this all on her home plus the help of family. We did the home inspection and final walk through and everything was in order. 2 hours after closing, the AC quit working. Unfortunately, she did not want to purchase a home warranty due to limited funds. I worked closely with an AC company to get her a new unit at cost with free installation of which I paid for myself then purchased her a home warranty. She was and still is forever grateful.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I had been in insurance and accounting for most of my life. I decided that I wanted to work with people direct vs sitting behind a computer all day. I had always been told I had a passion for helping others so with my sales background, I felt Real Estate would be a good fit for me.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I have an accounting degree and I have worked as a loan processor so this gives me an edge to be able to work with numbers and make sure the home a buyer is looking for works within their budget.
