ZillowVERIFIEDI'm going to start off by saying that I don't like most real estate agents. I find that most real estate agents are pushy about making people commit to life-altering decisions on a whim so that the relator can financially benefit. Because of this, I knew I needed someone who I could have honest conversations with about my goals and know that they have my best interest in mind. That is why I chose Brandon Porras of Ron Henderson & Associates.Brandon Porras won my business years ago and didn't realize it. He became a real estate agent several years ago and called me up. Brandon told me what he was up to and asked me if I wanted to be on his mailing list. I told him that I find realtor spam to be annoying. I told him that if adding me to his list met some sort of quota then that was fine. He responded by telling me that he would not put me on his mailing list. That meant a lot. After that conversation, he never bugged me about selling my house. He never sent me spammy surveys to convince me to sell. When I needed help with my wooden fence a few years ago, he came over to help and did not try to parlay that into a sale. He understood I loved my home.When I decided on my own that I wanted to move to a new home, I reached out to Brandon. I told him that I needed a subject matter expert to guide me through the entire home buying process. I explained why I wanted to purchase a new home and handed him a list of all the things my family wanted in a home. He walked me through the entire process from contracting him as my realtor to searching for homes to buying a home. When I didn't understand a concept, he was a phone call or text away. Brandon patiently showed us house after house. At some point, I started to get tired of looking at houses and became less picky. A few times I almost caved and bought a house, but Brandon was good about advising me to keep looking. He knew what we wanted and could tell when I was about to make a bad decision. He had the courage to tell me to not purchase a bad house. He truly cared that we got the home we wanted over just making a sale.Eventually, we found the home we wanted. He was right. We love our new home. It is within my budget and had everything I wanted. After buying the home, I stopped getting listings from him. Right now, I'm getting my old home emptied out to sell it. I'm looking forward to selling it. I have the confidence that Brandon will be able to help me with that process.
