I graduated from the University of Evansville with a B.S. degree in Accounting. After graduation I worked as an accountant. Most of my accounting was for Indianapolis-based home builders. In 1986 I became active in marketing real estate. I have been selling real estate exclusively since 1989. This extensive business and accounting background has been extremely valuable in making real estate my full-time professional career. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Get preapproved first so that you are in a position to make an offer when you find the right home. Once you are ready to go, we will set up a Homes Portal for you so that you will be immediately informed of any new or updated listings that match your profile. Then you will have a team of 3 full-time REALTORS to show you homes at YOUR convenience! We are expert negotiators with real estate experience since the 1990's and will help you get the right home at the best price! Then we will assist you through the inspection, financing, and all the way to the closing table.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Choose an experienced, full-time real estate agent team to professionally market your home. One person is not enough to get the job done. I am the "numbers man" with a background and degree in Accounting. My wife, Joyce, is the "techie one" with a computer degree and experience with online marketing, promotion, and a professionally trained Real Estate Photographer. Sheri is our Closing Coordinator and is behind the scenes making sure everything is completed and all goes well to the closing table!
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
We love working with all types of clients. First time buyers are great! It's like helping them plan a wedding and even though the price of the home is usually lower, we love helping them get their first dream home! Working with move up buyers is wonderful. We love getting to help them coordinate the sale of their current home and help them find the right home for their next phase of life. Lakefront homes are both full time and sometimes a 2nd home. This is a great fit for us since we have so much experience marketing Lakefront homes. We are the leader in Johnson County of selling lakefront homes. Homes on acreage have been one of our specialties for years. We know all the special inspections and challenges with homes in the country and the joys of country living ourselves! Luxury homes are another specialty of ours. We have sold the highest priced homes in 3 different counties. We have the knowledge and expertise to do a professional job that is required for luxury and executive homes. Retirement homes. Many of our past clients are now moving into their golden years and we love being able to do a great job for them. We have the integrity and reputation that is important to senior citizens and their families when helping them with this chapter in their lives.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
We recently helped a young family find their dream home. They had some special financial challenges, but our lender was able to find a program perfect for them. We looked at several homes and the market was hot. Properties were flying off the shelves, but after finding the perfect house, we were able to submit an offer, along with a personal letter to the seller about the family buying the home. The seller chose our offer over the others because of the beautiful story our buyers told. It was NOT the highest offer. Our buyers bought the home at a very fair market price and did not overpay, even in this very competitive sellers market. They are now moved into the home and we are keeping in tough through Facebook!
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
Rob was the Vice-President and Controller of a home builder. After working in the industry he developed a passion for buyers and sellers and wanted to be able to work with the people and not in the office. His real estate business grew so quickly, he needed assistance. Joyce was able to get her real estate license and help him with the marketing and promotion and also work with the buyers and sellers.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
Rob has a degree from the University of Evansville in Accounting. Joyce has a degree from IU in Business Management and Administration with a concentration in Computer Programming.
