Rich McBride

Rich's diverse background is a foundation that he relies on to guide his clients through the real estate process. His main skill is being an observant listener which allows him to determine what his client's needs are. There are many variables involved in any real estate transaction and having a plan to effectively negotiate the process is critical to insuring success. Rich grew up in Kansas and kept moving west. After a 2 year tour as a Peace Corps volunteer in the South Pacific, he returned to Colorado where he skied and mountain biked, while he worked to complete an Industrial Technology degree. Rich followed a job offer to Northern California and kayaked many of the whitewater runs there before moving north to Oregon. He had a few summers in Alaska, and winters in Hawaii and the Bahamas but was always drawn back to the Northwest. He first came to Hood River to kayak the White Salmon River in 1993. He repeated that journey several more times, enjoying the area more each visit. In 1999 Rich had the opportunity to relocate and decided that the mid-Columbia region held the strongest attraction. Outside of Alaska or New Zealand, nowhere has the geographic diversity and outdoor opportunities of the Hood River region. He took up windsurfing and then kitesurfing, continuing his involvement in outdoor sports. Since moving here Rich has been lucky to marry his best friend, Kate and get elected to public office as a Port of Hood River commissioner. Serving the community as a steward of our public assets is an honor and responsibility he takes very seriously.
