1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
First and most important is to get pre-approved for a loan prior to looking. Houses sell quickly and you may not have time to get approved before a house you like is sold. Determine the area, price range, bedroom, bath, garage, if you need a basement.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Curb appeal is important. It is the first sign of how a seller cares for their home. Declutter-store items that you don't need every day. Be realistic about the price. Compare other houses that sold in your neighborhood when pricing your home. Look at it from a buyers point of view. Are you competitively priced? Most homes get the most action in first 30 days, don't miss that window by pricing your home too high and thinking you can come down later. In 30 days, buyers wonder what is wrong with your house that it hasn't sold. Showings taper off and you might have missed an opportunity to get an offer.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
My clients include buyers and sellers involving high end sales, starter homes and cottages. My goal is to satisfy my client so they want to work with me again and refer to their friends and family.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I helped a elderly couple sell a condo that they no longer lived in. Their son was out of state and contacted me to help sell their condo. I helped him with ideas on what to do to make it sell quicker and for the most money. I provided a resource list of people to help get the work done. It sold the first week it was on the market. The son was thrilled and so was his parents. I took paperwork to the senior community to review with them and also arranged to do the closing in their apartment to make it easy for them. I love helping people have a smooth transaction and a happy ending.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I started to help out an agent that needed to share her business and free up some of her time. Shortly after getting my license, she quit real estate. I had a slow start but eventually became a successful agent with hundreds of transactions under my belt.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I have a background in mortgage origination, sales and customer service. I have also flipped houses so I know what to point out to buyers. All of these things are extremely helpful when putting an offer together, resolving inspection issues, negotiating the sale and taking it to the closing table.
