The house-buying process in this market is pretty painful, not fun and easy like the old days, and buying a foreclosure or a short sale is a long, frustrating process. Paula was always willing to help me focus and stay on plan and not give up, although I certainly wanted to many, many times. Ten or so offers I made over four months tanked before I actually managed to buy a house--usually thanks to investors with cash or someone with a bigger down payment---the competition out there for limited inventory is incredible.
