ZillowVERIFIEDI sold my Mom's old house. It was a mess, as my ailing sisters couldn't do the upkeep. I asked 3 realtors to tell me how to get it ready to sell. One said clean it up and sell as is for $499K. Another said do minor repairs and list for $550K; Patty was the only one who saw what I couldn't say aloud: I wanted my Mom to be proud of her old house. Patty got it fixed, painted, recarpeted, and suggested we list it for $590K. I laer noticed the fruit trees my Mom had planted were dying; when I asked if we could get someone to care for them, I learned I had gotten a two-for one deal! Her hubby Ted said he'd care for them until the house was sold. We received a full-price offer the day before the Open House. Yes we sold the house.
